The blog has not been as updated as facebook as it is just quicker to update facebook than it is to update the blog, but I also wanted to put the latest update on here…

just spent the day at the hospital in hopes of having a diagnoses, but sadly no, there hasn’t been enough time for the scrapings to grow in the little science dishes so they can be exact. Apparently I am quite unique (a nurse friend has mentioned freakish) because cellulitis is very rare in both legs, so if it was just one that kept swelling up I could have that up on chair & keep editing but because it’s both and they swell to nearly double in size and burn (it’s a funny pain) I have to stop after about 30 minutes, but I am squeezing everything I can from the time I can be on the computer & doing so from morning to night. I have been so lucky that Rob has been home at this time (he does not think so) but it has meant that I haven’t had to do a lot of the moving around things, but I’ll only have him home for probably another 1-2 weeks so ETA’s on editing are within that time, I have to have everything edited (maybe not all of the weddings, sorry girls you end up with about 500 photos each, so it takes a little longer) prior to him going to work.

Just to give perspective and this was totally my own fault for wanting to not say no to anyone but I photographed 48 families incl. babies from Oct. to Dec. & 3 weddings, actually this doesn’t include any families after the 14th Dec so they’re not even in my totals. I have managed to edit 27 and am getting through either one whole baby session & a mini session in a day/ or 3 mini sessions. I am trying to keep it as fair as possible as some of my babies have been waiting the longest, with one wonderful customer still holding out from the 29th September. And a session I gifted from July, they too have been understanding, I promise Taylor will not turn 1 before you have your baby photos!

SO many lessons have been learnt, start Christmas sessions earlier, I will no longer be photographing weddings unless they are already in my diary (which is only 3) sorry guys, and I will be re-evaluating my business practices and website (after everyone is edited) to reflect more balanced life changes. And I promise to take better care of myself so that my body which is what runs my business doesn’t stop working when most needed.

I know a lot of you have been very disappointed (not in a horrible way) in a ‘I really want to see my photos way’ and I have been hugely disappointed in myself in a ‘I can’t wait for you to see your photos way’. Mini session customers you’ll notice an extra gift & babies you’ll also be spoilt, not to mention the wedding girls as they have been so understanding. You may also ask why does it take so long & that’s because I edit every photo individually, I want you to have the best photos that I can provide for you.

So Rob has gone to buy my new drug combinations, which “they hope will give it a good knock” their words not mine. But I hope so too, more than just a good knock!

I am still shooting. Mainly babies as they wait for no one to grow, but other than doctor appointment’s it will be me & the computer.

When it’s your own business there is just no one to pass the buck to, you are the buck! So your support & understanding has been invaluable in my recuperation! I left the hospital today & as I got in the car I burst into tears. The walk from the ward was so slow & not at all the let me just jump up & face the world as per usual that I had expected. Really knocked the wind out of me. I am now home, showered, drugged up (more antibiotics) and about to eat comfort food ‘chinese’. I think I’m going to work on the last lot of photos from Christmas, which I missed desperately, get ready for my two final babies of the year (although one is on the 3rd Jan.) before they get any bigger/older & be a little quiet. It will be my quite goodbye to the year that was 2010 x k. Still look out for the sneak peeks, they may just not be that chatty, I will let the photos speak for me :) k.

His beautiful parents were also very comfortable in front of the camera, wanted to capture more of the beautiful landscape (you just can’t hear the voice in my head saying, please no snakes, please no snakes) and when we did the sit down outside shots, mum had the most beautful hat – I love anything & everything that looks girlie & it was just gorgeous & made the photo very special.

Mary is such a warm hearted person & someone I find myself easily chatting to for ages, and a very girlie girl, which is lucky as she is surrounded by 4 gorgeous boys, 3 little ones – Matthew, Nicholas & Luke & of course her hubby, so I think she needs to hold onto as much girliness as she can, lol!
The boys were wonderful & although it took Lukey a little while to warm up, last time he was only a few months old, he came super good in the end. Hope you enjoy your sneak peek guys, gallery to follow soon. Ta :) k.
